Nigerian Afrobeats Artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido recently expressed delight over the success of his hit song “Unavailable.” His Unavailable established a new record by becoming the first 2023 Afrobeats song to surpass 50 million streams on the popular digital streaming platform, Spotify.
Davido who retweeted a tweet from WeTalkSound(WTS) wrote, “No be juju be that?”
This comes after the music sensation announced that he donated over N230 million to the less privileged through his foundation, The David Adeleke Foundation (DAF).
Davido’s Unavailable: What to Know?
The hit song is one of the tracks in his fourth studio album “Timeless” released in May 2023.
Unavailable slowly became a song on the lips of many fans and celebrities as they joined the viral Unavailable challenge on TikTok.
The song peaked at number 1 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart for five weeks and reached number 8 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart. It also features complementary vocals by South African singer Musa Keys. Unavailable was produced by Ragee and co-produced by Magicsticks.
In a recent update, Davido’s unavailable did not feature on Former US President, Barrack Obama’s summer music playlist.
Obama who is in the habit of sharing his music playlist from time to time, caused an online buzz when he shared a list of songs, he had been listening to for summer.
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, was one of the numerous artists who made the list. Also, Ayra Starr’s hit song, Sability, made the list.
Davido’s talent and creativity as displayed in his Timeless Tour continue to garner him multiple awards and accolades, cementing his position as one of the most prominent voices in the Afrobeats genre.
