The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained that the state bears all customs duties for agricultural production inputs, as well as the establishment of agricultural and animal production factories outside the industrial sites of factories related to animal and agricultural production.
This came during the agricultural sector meeting organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, where the Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Establishments and Services Mohammed Al-Abdulatif, reviewed the mechanism for implementing the decision and its details.
The official confirmed that the decision includes all items of agricultural and animal production inputs, and targets farmers, agricultural institutions and companies, and agricultural associations “practicing agricultural activity,” in addition to importing institutions and companies, according to a statement by the Ministry.
He pointed out that the status of factories located outside the industrial cities will be addressed according to the situation of existing factories inside agricultural sites across the Kingdom.
The Cabinet, chaired by King Salman, approved on Feb. 26, that the state bears customs duties on specific types of agricultural production inputs for two years as per certain rules.
