The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has said the agency will soon launch a mobile app to aid the reportage of emergency situations and security threats.
He made this known during a partnership meeting with the Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) management team led by the CEO, Mallam Yushau Shuaib, at the NOA headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking during the meeting, Mallam Onilu said, “we are creating platforms to engage with Nigerians, and by next week, we are going to launch our app, a mobile app that we call the Mobiliser.
“The app has a lot of functionalities, one of which is profiling to enable Nigerians identify a threat when they see one by knowing what to look out for in order to know what to report.”
“This our mobile app has the facility that every Nigerians wherever they are will be able to click, give a description, upload a picture or video of a concern and automatically we receive this and forward to the relevant agency for response and action.”
In his earlier address, the IMPR boss informed his host about his organisation’s track record with working with the security services in the area of strategic communication to mobilise the citizenry.
The two organisations therefore agreed to work together with the military authorities to engage Nigerians to support the government on the war against terrorists, bandits and other troublemakers.
