Popular Kannada actor Vijay Raghavendra’s wife Spandana has passed away from a massive cardiac arrest while on a vacation in Thailand with her family. This sudden death has the entire family reeling from shock. The tragedy took place just 19 days before their 16th wedding anniversary.
Spandana was rushed to a hospital in Bangkok, but couldn’t be revived. According to reports, she was suffering from low blood pressure and had a heart attack. She was out shopping when she suddenly felt unwell and complained of chest pain.
An ETimes report confirmed that her mortal remains will be flown to India on Tuesday. The last rites will take place on that day as well.
Raghavendra was supposed to start promotional activities of his upcoming project ‘Kadda’ (which is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 25), however, this tragedy has postponed all of his professional commitments. Incidentally, this is not the first time the ‘Sevanthi Sevanthi’ star has lost a close relative to heart attack. His cousin, Puneeth Rajkumar (also known as ‘Powerstar Puneeth’) passed away in October 2021 from a cardiac arrest.
Spandana hailed from a Tulu family. She is the daughter of a former police officer. Her father BK Shivaram was the Assistant Commissioner of Police. In 2016, she made her cinematic debut in the Ravichandra directorial ‘Apoorva’, where she played a cameo. The movie also marked her debut in Kannada cinema.
Spandana and Raghavendra got married in 2007. The pair has a son named Shaurya.
