Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed into law, a total of N437 billion as 2024 Budget.
The appropriation bill was passed to the governor by the State House of Assembly recently.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature, the Budget comprises of 64 percent capital expenditure and 36 percent recurrent expenditure.
The Budget is tagged “Budget of Restoration and Transformation.”
While delivering his address at a low key event in the Government House on Thursday, Governor Yusuf assured the people of the state that the Budget would be utilised judiciously for the benefit of the populace in accordance with global best practice of public financial management.
He emphasised that the signing ceremony was an important event that will significantly impact the lives of every citizen within the state and beyond.
“The total budget estimate that has been ratified today amounts to 437,338,312,787.83, with 64 percent allocated to capital projects and recurrent expenditure of 36 percent,” the governor said.
He commended members of the State House of Assembly for their diligence in working on the Budget proposal and delivering it in good time ahead of the New Year.
