The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has reiterated commitment to enhance Nigeria’s export environment while providing the needed boost for agro exports.
Godwin Sunday Audu, the acting comptroller general of NAQS disclosed this in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to him, the Agency under his leadership will focus on promoting the ease of doing business by expediting inspection and certification services, streamlining application processes, and automating quarantine procedures.
“These efforts aim to significantly make life easier for agro-exporters and reduce the processing time for agricultural export documentation.
“In alignment with the Renewed Hope agenda of the present administration and the strategic blueprint of the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, we shall do more in the delivery of our services and mandate,” he said.
Audu also hinted on plans to optimize operations at interstate control stations to minimize delays in the haulage of Top 10 list of US agricultural exports to Nigeria” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>agro commodities, adding that collaborative efforts with stakeholders will address and eliminate illegal operators hindering movement of goods on federal highways.
Speaking on ensuring effective service delivery, Audu urged officers of the agency to maintain discipline and orderliness as they carryout their duties.
“We assure all stakeholders that the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service is dedicated to enhance its service delivery and align its mandate with the renewed hope agenda of the Federal Government of Nigeria,” he said.
Audu took over office from Vincent Isigbe, the pioneer Comptroller General of NAQS, at the expiration of his tenure on the 12th of December, 2023.
