CBS has opted against a fourth season of NCIS: Hawai’i. This fourth spin-off from the veteran NCIS (following NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans and prior to the current international NCIS: Sydney), followed Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant, the first female special agent-in-charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor, who leads her team of specialists as they investigate high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security and the mysteries of the island.
The cast also included Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Tori Anderson, and Kian Talan. Former NCIS: Los Angeles‘ star LL Cool J was added to this now final season as his character Sam Hanna.
NCIS: Hawai’i was last scripted series in the CBS lineup awaiting word on its fate, and it follows the cancellations of dramas CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd (which the fans are now petitioning on the change.org website via “Save So Help Me Todd”).
Previously, the Eye network announced that sitcoms Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola will end in May, and veteran crime solver Blue Bloods next fall.
Despite the cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i, two additional NCIS spin-offs are in developement. They are a prequel series about a young Jethro Leroy Gibbs on CBS, and the return of Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly for a series on streamer Paramount+.
