Ondo Internal Revenue Rises to N40bn
The Ondo State Government has disclosed that its Internally Generated Revenue has increased by 300 per cent to N40bn from N10bn.
The Chairman of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Tolu Adegbie, stated this at the induction/training programme for the 165 new members of staff of the organisation in Akure.
Adegbie said, “The Ondo State Internal Revenue Service has grown the revenue systematically from an annual average of N10bn in 2017 to N40bn by 2023, a 300 per cent growth.
“The work of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service is integral to the socio-economic development of our state. Through the collection of taxes and other revenues, we contribute directly to the provision of essential services, infrastructure development, and the overall improvement of the quality of life for our citizens.”
He charged the new staff members to be diligent and to uphold the core values of the organisation.
“Your role as members of this organisation is, therefore, paramount, and I urge you to embrace it with a sense of purpose and dedication. As you embark on this journey with us, I encourage you to embrace the core values that define our service: transparency, resourcefulness, integrity and professionalism,” he charged.
Also, the Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, noted that the role of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service was pivotal in ensuring economic growth and development of the state.
“Our ability to efficiently collect taxes and revenue directly impacts the provision of essential services, infrastructure development, and the overall well-being of our citizens,” he said.
