Saudi Arabia aims for early education to reach 90% by 2030: Minister

Saudi Arabia improved its position in early education from 10% in 2019 to current 34%, aiming to reach 90% by 2030, said Minister of Education, Yousef Al-Benyan. He also emphasized the need to invest in teachers to attain higher skills.

During his participation in the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) conference, he mentioned that the global collective trend towards human capacity development and bridging gaps will enable facing future challenges and developments, Saudi Press Agency reported.

There is a global agenda for developing human capital in line with Saudi Vision 2030, making the Kingdom a leading force in enhancing and developing human capabilities. Al-Benyan also highlighted the impact of quality education on economic prosperity.

He stressed the importance of considering long-term education outcomes, impact assessment, and evaluating the education and competence levels to achieve targets and meet aspirations.

Further, the public and private sectors, as well as human capital development were among the top priorities to witness the actual skills needed for growth. Al-Benyan pointed to the significant improvement in the Kingdom’s national programs, with a remarkable 19-point advance on indices. Saudi Arabia also move forward five times globally.
