Did you know that sitting around all day might be bad for your brain? A Harvard study has shown that it could lead to dementia.

In a study, scientists found out that if you sit for more than 10 hours a day, you might have a higher chance of getting dementia, which is a big word for when people start forgetting things or have trouble thinking clearly.
Around 50,000 people who were around 67 years old took part in this study. None of them had dementia at the start.
They wore a special watch that tracked how much they moved every day for a week. After six years, the scientists checked who had dementia.
They saw that people who sat a lot, like 10, 12, or even 15 hours a day, were more likely to have memory problems than those who moved more.
What’s really interesting is that it didn’t matter if people sat for a long time without a break or just sat a lot throughout the day – the risk was the same.
So, it looks like the more you sit, the more your risk of having memory issues goes up.
This is super important for all of us who like to lounge on the couch or sit at a desk all day. It means we should try to move around more.
Maybe take short walks, stand up now and then, or even use a standing desk.
