Suffolk taps Clark exec for EVP role

Boston-based builder Suffolk has appointed industry veteran Brett Earnest as executive vice president, the contractor announced on Sept. 14.

Suffolk says that adding Earnest to its fold will help it grow in various sectors, including aviation and transportation, mission critical, federal and gaming projects. Earnest will oversee and guide these sectors nationally.

Prior to joining Suffolk, Earnest spent 20 years working for Bethesda, Maryland-based Clark Construction. He was, most recently, the head of Clark’s Pacific Northwest division, where he oversaw projects such as the $1.4 billion Washington State Convention Center addition and the $780 million SeaTac International Arrivals facility in Seattle, per the release.

Earnest graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Suffolk has been busy. Earlier this month, the contractor completed renovations at Gillette Stadium worth $250 million, the home of the NFL’s New England Patriots and the MLS’s New England Revolution. In July, the contractor closed the inaugural fund of its venture capital arm, Suffolk Technologies, with $110 million in commitments.
