The Vampire Diaries season 9 has always been a long cherished wish for the fans especially after the eighth season. The prospect of a Season 9 for The Vampire Diaries releasing new episodes appears rather unlikely. The original series concluded on March 10, 2017, on the CW network after an extensive eight-season run, encompassing a total of 171 episodes, according to reports.
The chances of a Season 9 for The Vampire Diaries seem dim for several reasons. Firstly, the original series concluded on its own terms with Season 8. Additionally, the franchise spawned two spinoff shows, namely The Originals, which delves into the narrative of the original family of vampires, and Legacies, following characters like Hope Mikaelson, Lizzie Saltzman, and Josie Saltzman.
Regrettably, Legacies faced cancellation in 2022, bringing an end to the show after four seasons and, consequently, concluding the world of The Vampire Diaries.
Meanwhile, the sixth season of vampire comedy series “What We Do in the Shadows” will be its last, FX has announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is entering the back half of a two-season renewal that will take the show to its conclusion.
“What We Do in the Shadows” follows vampires Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Lazslo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) who have been roommates for hundreds of years.
How they navigate the modern world of Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillen), and their vampire bureaucrat acquaintance, the Guide (Kristen Schaal) forms the core of the plot.
The fifth season of the series concluded in August. “What Do We Do in the Shadows”, created by Jemaine Clement based on his and Taika Waititi’s 2014 film of the same name, premiered on FX in 2019.
