At 29 years old, Tunde Onakoya etched his name in the annals of chess history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon. His unparalleled dedication saw him surpass the previous record of 56 hours and 9 minutes, held by Norwegian players Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad in 2018. Onakoya’s feat took place in New York’s Times Square, where he reached an unprecedented 58-hour mark, showcasing not only his prowess in chess but also his resilience and determination.
