The Six Invitational has a new champion.

W7m esports has won the Rainbow Six Invitational, beating FaZe Clan in an incredible grand final, to become world champions for the first time. The win gives w7m the $1 million first-place prize as well as the coveted title of Rainbow Six Siege world champion.
The final of the 2024 Six Invitational came down to a match between the two best teams of the year, w7m esports and FaZe Clan. Both teams were playing on home soil, with all 10 players in the final hailing from Brazil, which resulted in a ruckus crowd that really elevated the event.
The final kicked off in unusual fashion with FaZe Clan taking a dominant 7-1 win on Oregon, however, things got back to normal with the teams trading incredibly close rounds on both Bank and Skyscraper where they both won their own map pick 7-5 before w7m took Border 7-4 to set up a final map five.
Nighthaven Labs was the map for the final showdown of the Six Invitational. FaZe Clan hit first, taking the opening two rounds, partly thanks to a team kill from w7m that cost them significantly. w7m did pull back the third round, but FaZe were simply too strong and found themselves on championship point before w7m picked up another round win, but things turned from that point on. w7m shifted the momentum, going from 6-1 down to 6-6 and forcing one of the most unlikely overtimes in Rainbow Six history.
w7m struck first in overtime to put themselves on championship point for the first time, and then took an unlikely win to secure the two points they needed to become world champions, in what is undoubtedly the best Rainbow Six Siege final of all time.

While both teams entered the tournament as favorites, topping the global standings for the past season, at one point it looked very unlikely we would get the final that the entire crowd in Brazil wanted to see. Neither team won their group, meaning they would have to play an extra round in the upper bracket which they could have skipped with better group stage results. For w7m, this almost ended their tournament, as they lost to Wolves Esports in that match and dropped to the lower bracket. But from there they went on one of the most impressive runs in R6 history to make it all the way to the final. In six lower bracket best of threes, they only dropped two games.
FaZe on the other hand had a better time in the upper bracket, despite having to meet another favorite, G2 Esports in the second round of the upper bracket. They took them down 2-1, then took down Soniqs and Virtus.Pro 2-0 to secure the first spot in the final.
Outside of the Brazilian teams in the top two, Virtus.Pro took home third place, while G2 Esports took fourth.
It is safe to say that the first Six Invitational in Brazil did not disappoint, with a record-breaking sold-out crowd that made the event feel unique compared to previous years. Hopefully, it will not be long before a major Rainbow Six Siege tournament returns to Brazil.
