What’s Worth Streaming: Everything coming to Amazon’s Prime Video and Freevee in October 2023
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

From Halloween frights to an existential rom-com to gritty mysteries, Amazon’s Prime Video and Freevee, its free, ad-supported service, have a little bit of everything this October.

If you’re looking for scary stuff ahead of Halloween, the slasher-comedy movie “Totally Killer” (Oct. 6) looks to be the best of the bunch. Kiernan Shipka (“Mad Men”) stars as a 17-year-old who travels back in time to 1987 to stop a serial killer before he can start his slaying spree. There’s also “Make Me Scream” (Oct. 3), a celebrity special where teams must navigate scare zones while trying not to scream.

streaming service also has Season 3 of “Upload” (Oct. 20), Greg Daniels’ sci-fi comedy about uploaded consciousness, which this time around finds Nathan (Robbie Amell), who’s been downloaded back to real life, somehow duplicated, with a copy of himself now wandering around in the digital afterlife, causing romantic complications.

Meanwhile, Freevee has the second season of “Bosch: Legacy” (Oct. 20), the “Bosch” spinoff starring Titus Welliver as a private investigator in L.A., while his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) charts her path as a police officer.

Prime Video also has a good lineup of NFL Thursday Night Football (Bears-Commanders on Oct. 5, Broncos-Chiefs on Oct. 12, Jaguars-Saints on Oct. 19, and Buccaneers-Bills on Oct. 26); “The Burial” (Oct. 13), a funeral-home drama movie starring Oscar-winners Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones; all 11 seasons of the classic sitcom “Frasier” (Oct. 1); and a slew of James Bond movies, including “Dr. No,” “A View to a Kill” and “Spectre” (all Oct. 1).

Here’s the full list of what’s on the way (release dates are subject to change):
