Nigerian billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu recently donated 25 state-of-the-art operational vehicles valued at $650,000 to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The $650,000 donation comes from the ASR Africa Security Sector Support Grant, a security-focused initiative aimed at empowering the agency by furnishing vital resources.
Conveying the documents and keys of the vehicles to Mohammed Buba Marwa, chairman and CEO of NDLEA, Ubon Udoh, managing director of ASR Africa said “On behalf of Abdul Samad Rabiu, we are presenting you with 25 operational vehicles to facilitate your work. This is merely the start of a promising journey toward even greater accomplishments.”
Udoh further highlighted Rabiu’s profound commitment to societal welfare and the establishment of the initiative to uplift and rejuvenate African lives and dignity.
What the $650,000 donation will do
The contribution which is one of Abdul Samad’s philanthropic efforts through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) will significantly enhance the agency’s capacity and reach.
It will also help the NDLEA, responsible for drug policy and control within Nigeria, substantially boost its operational endeavours.
Rabiu and NDLEA
The $650,000 donation comes after Rabiu gave NDLEA a $1.1 million grant about nine months ago from Rabiu. Recall that Rabiu drew widespread attention last year when he launched the Nigeria Security Support Fund, a groundbreaking $23.8-million endeavour.
The fund aims to equip security personnel with essential resources, furnish medical supplies, and extend assistance to the families of soldiers engaged in the battle against terrorism in Nigeria’s northeast region.

ASR Africa was launched by Rabiu as a Non-profit organisation in April 2021. The foundation is devoted to realizing sustainable, impact-driven resolutions to developmental challenges impacting Africa’s healthcare, education, and social advancement.
