With the Memorial Day holiday weekend having come and gone, summer 2024 is now well within our reach. While some people are looking forward to vacations at the beach or s’mores by the bonfire, others would agree there is no better way to kick off the sunny season than with new summer beauty launches. If you fall into the latter category — or are looking forward to both, because balance — then you’re in luck, because there are plenty of new beauty products that deserve your attention this June.
As is the case at the start of any new season, brands are releasing seasonally appropriate products this month to make sure you maximize the many warm days ahead while still looking (and feeling) your best. But with so many options to choose from across the hair, makeup, skin, body, and fragrance categories, figuring out what to buy for your individual needs may feel a bit overwhelming. That’s why our POPSUGAR editors have done the heavy lifting for you, testing the latest and greatest formulas that have launched over the last few weeks.
From summertime perfumes that are light and airy to sunscreens that will keep you protected from burns and even a microcurrent device that will keep your face looking snatched all season long, we rounded up the best beauty launches from June that are worth adding to cart.
Best Serum
InnBeauty Elastic Skin ($42)
“I never got behind the viral snail serums that took TikTok by storm, but I can’t lie, I was mildly curious what all of the hype was about. That’s why I was so excited to test out the new InnBeauty Elastic Skin Serum. This vegan serum delivers similar plumping, hydrating, and firming results without involving the actual slimy creatures. The serum even has that cool, thick, bouncy texture.” — Jessica Harrington, senior beauty editor
Best Lip Mask
Provence Beauty Soft Bisons Plumping and Smoothing Lip Mask ($13)
“I like to keep a hydrating lip product on my desk at all times while I’m working, and this month, it was the Provence Beauty Soft Bisons Plumping and Smoothing Lip Mask. Not only did it leave my lips feeling ultra moisturized, but it also gave them a nice shine throughout the day. It has subtle plumping effects, but it doesn’t tingle or burn, which is a huge plus in my opinion.” — Renee Rodriguez, staff writer and social producer
Best Facial Mask
Dr. Doft Morpheus Repair Mask ($300)
“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Melissa Doft at her office a handful of times over the years, and though I’m very particular with who I trust near my face with a needle, she’s proved herself an expert in every sense of the word. That’s why I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her new product line, and trust me on this: the Morpheus Repair Mask overdelivers. It’s loaded with plant extracts and peptides with fancy-pants technology that I don’t fully understand but believe kickstarts your skin’s regenerative properties like an Octupus growing back a lost tentacle. Anyway, what I do know is that it smells utterly delightful — it’s slight, almost earthy, and has hints of citrus — and the texture is hydrating without feeling heavy. I use it at night like I would a rich face cream, only in this case I wake up with the kind of glow I’ve only ever dreamed of.” — Kelsey Castañon, senior content director
Best Microcurrent Device
bt-Sculpt Microcurrent Facial Device ($392)
“I’ve tested a lot of microcurrent devices, but the bt-Sculpt Microcurrent Facial Device might be my new favorite. Yes, it looks kind of wacky, but the results are noticeable after just a few uses. The design is unlike anything I’ve ever tried before, but it offers some of the best skin coverage out there. You only need one hand to get in a good facial work out, and it doesn’t ever zap your face which is an issue I’ve noticed with other microcurrent products in the past.” — RR
Best Lip Oil
Gisou Honey Infused Hydrating Lip Oil ($28)
“The Gisou Honey Infused Hydrating Lip Oil is already one of my favorite lip oils on the market, but the brand recently came out with a few new shades and they are all certified bangers. It’s hard for me to choose a favorite but if I was forced to, it’d have to be Strawberry Sorbet, a sheer pinky red that makes my lips look lush and juicy.” — Ariel Baker, associate beauty editor
Best Styling Creme
KMS Conscious Style Beach Style Creme ($27)
“‘Tis the season for beach trips and all the effortless, windswept beauty looks that comes with it, only in my case, there’s a lot more I-can’t-get-to-the-beach-but-help-me-pretend. One way I’ve been able to do that is with this styling product. It strikes the perfect balance between a cream and a pomade: it adds a little grit to the hair, making it ideal for scrunching, scrunching, scrunching until you get your perfect beachy texture, but also adds a touch of hydration (that’s thanks to the upcycled seaweed).” — KC
Best Hair Dryer
Dyson Supersonic Nural™ Hair Dryer ($500)
“When I first learned that Dyson was launching a new generation of its Supersonic hair dryer, a tool that I love and use regularly, I was skeptical. I thought: what more could they add? But I was quickly shown a thing or two by the Dyson Nural. This is by far the smartest blow dryer I’ve ever used. It has a slew of new features, but my all-time favorite is the scalp protect mode, which uses sensors to automatically adjust the temperature to reduce your risk of damaging that sensitive skin on your head. You can read by full review and comparison here.” — JH
Best Texturizing Hair Product
IGK Beach Club High-Shine Hair Texture Foam ($32)
“I am — or rather my hair is — quite picky when it comes to styling products. As someone with fine, wavy hair, I’m always looking for things that will help me perfect my air-dry process. All it took was one use to be impressed by the IGK Beach Club High-Shine Hair Texture Foam. The weightless foam enhanced my waves, cutting down on frizz and providing a soft, touchable hold. Since getting my hands on it, I’ve used it countless times after I wash my hair, but it’s also great as a refresh product.” — JH
Best Heat Protectant
Saltair Ocean Orange Flower All-In-One Heat Protectant Spray ($13)
“I can’t get over how lovely this spray smells. Orange flower, jasmin, salt . . . it’s really speaking my scent language. It’s super subtle but I’m so pleased every time I get a whiff of it throughout the day. Plus, it protects hair up to 450 degrees and helps prevent breakage and damage. At 13 bucks it’s a must-have.” — Aviel Kanter, director, branded content
Best Air-Dry Product
Crown Affair The Texturizing Air Dry Hair Mousse ($38)
“My hair can be kind of temperamental, especially when it comes to air drying. Sometimes, it dries looking beachy and perfectly tousled, and other times it just looks frizzy and flat. This texturizing foam actually makes my natural waves look uniform and voluminous — both when I truly air dry it and when I diffuse it with a little heat. The best part: not a single crunchy strand.” — Aviel Kanter, director, branded content
Best Hair Accessory
Jennifer Behr Taryn Bow Barrette ($425)
“I haven’t gotten into the whole bow trend, but that came to an immediate stop when I saw this masterpiece from Jennifer Behr. The thing that caught my eye was the stunning river of pearls that looked like they were falling from the knot in the bow — I couldn’t stop thinking about it. In real life, it’s even more high quality than I could have imagined (thanks to the silky satin that it’s made of). I will not be savoring it for special occasions and will instead wear it every day until I’m able to hopefully pass it down to my kid one day.” — AB
Best Matte Foundation
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Natural Matte Foundation with SPF 40 ($47)
“It Cosmetics’s Natural Matte Foundation has been fabulous for throwing on quickly and getting out the door. It provides more of a soft-matte finish and the shade match is beautiful. I’m not too big on foundations in the summer but this one feels really lightweight and easy to use, so I just might become a convert.” — AB
Best Blush
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick ($48)
“Now that the warm weather is here, I mainly rely on two products in my makeup routine: blush and lip balm. The new Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick is absolute perfection — it doesn’t pull at my skin, but instead glides on smoothly, it has great color payoff, and it’s the perfect product for giving me a little after-sun flush without ever needing to put my face in the sun.” — RR
Best Liquid Eyeliner
Make Beauty Liquid Line Waterproof Felt Tip Eyeliner ($23)
“The amount of fun colors there are to choose from in the new Make Liquid Line lineup is almost overwhelming. So many looks to be created! These are great for any look, from an ultra-thin tightline to a graphic cateye — and they really do stay put even if you have watery eyes like me (thanks, seasonal allergies). I’m obsessed with the shades Wavelength (deep blue), Substellar (espresso brown), and New Sky (powder blue) to make my blue eyes pop.” — AK
Best Mascara
Covergirl Eye Enhancer Mascara ($8)
“I test mascaras on the reg, but in order for a new one to make it into my routine, it needs to be a show-stopper. The Covergirl Eye Enhancer Mascara is honestly kind of perfect — it doesn’t clump, or flake, or leave me with raccoon eyes, but instead, it’s the perfect product to enhance my eyes without overdoing it. This one is my go-to for simple makeup looks.” — RR
Best Lipstick
Mary Kay Limited-Edition Sparkle Cream Lipstick ($22)
“Few products are so impressive that they make me gasp based on packaging alone, but the Mary Kay Limited-Edition Sparkle Cream Lipstick is truly beautiful. The outside of the lipstick bullet looks like it’s coated in actual glitter, but when you swipe it on, it reveals a saturated wash of color. Plus, proceeds from sales benefit the Pink Changing Lives, benefiting women in need.” — JH
Best Blurring Powder
One/Size Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder ($34)
“One/Size recently released three new shades of its Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder and the Ultra Peach shade has taken my love of this formula to new heights. It’s great for people who have more neutral undertones and if you like to midtone blush; it’s the perfect product to buff out your brighter blush shade.” — AB
Best Lip Glaze
Kylie Cosmetics Supple Kiss Lip Glaze ($19)
“I’m picky about my lip products, but honestly, Kylie kills it every time. The new Kylie Cosmetics Supple Kiss Lip Glaze is the perfect product to keep in my purse at all times. It looks great on its own, but I also love it paired with lip liner. It doesn’t have a sticky finish, but instead leaves my mouth looking shiny, and, well, kissable.” — RR
Best Lip Pencil
Lisa Eldridge Decade Lip Pencil ($27)
“Lisa Eldridge can do no wrong in my eyes, and the launch of her brand’s lip liners are no exception. It comes in a range of shades for anyone to choose from, but the color Decade is the perfect brown that straddles the line between warm and cool-toned, while not landing firmly in either category. I’ve used a ridiculous amount of it already and am actively trying my best not to buy four more of them so that I never run out. They’re that good.” — AB
Best Makeup Brushes
Danessa Myricks My Yummy Brush Collection: Starter Edition ($175)
“Danessa Myricks and Mykitco collaborated on a brush set and I got the Started Edition — a compilation of 10 face and eye brushes that help to create a full face. One of my favorite brushes is the my My Targeted Fluff, and the name couldn’t be anymore perfect. The brush is soft and pliable but not so much that the bristles just splay across your face when using it. I’ve been loving using it to apply my powder products and the rest of the brushes are just as impressive.” — AB
Best SPF Body Oil
Vacation Shimmer Oil SPF 50 ($38)
“In spite of being a very serious journalist, I could not help cracking up the first time I applied this body oil. I felt like I was 13 again — in the best way possible. When I was in middle school in Florida the early aughts, body glitter was the ultimate cool. It was slathered on my chest and arms on a daily basis. Vacation’s version blessedly includes a healthy SPF 30, so you can be protected as well as being the coolest person at the pool, and it smells totally delicious. I will say, it leaves quite a bit of glitter (ahem, shimmer) on your skin which is either a pro or a con depending on your vibe.” — AK
Best SPF Gel
Vacation Orange Gelée Sunscreen Gel ($23)
“Man oh man, where do I begin with this one? Growing up, my mom always used the Bain de Soleil tanning gel, and the product and the scent always reminds me of some of the best summers of my life. The product is discontinued, but Vacation came out with its own version, the Vacation Orange Gelée Sunscreen Gel. It has SPF30, so it’s much safer for use than the original (it had a whopping SPF4), but it’s still got the amazing scent and perfect texture. It’s going to be a staple in my beach bag this summer.” — RR
Best Body Wash
Nécessaire The Body Wash Olibanum ($25)
“Hello, Nécessaire headquarters? Yes I’d like to put in a request for the new Olibanum scent to come in every beauty product known to man. I need perfumes, deodorants, shampoo, and conditioner. Actually, can you also do a candle? I am so deeply in love with this body wash that, as someone who already loves an everything shower, I was squealing with excitement to get in the bathroom just to use it.” — AB
Best Hand Soap
Flamingo Roma Heirloom Tomato Hand Soap ($46)
“There is nothing being in my 30s has taught me more than just how quickly the grandma-core aesthetic sneaks up on you. I woke up one day and suddenly I’m putting out paisley hand towels, hoarding vintage honey pots, and lusting after things like garden-inspired hand soap. Per the latter, though, let me just clarify: I have no shame over my love for the Flamingo Roma Heirloom Tomato Hand Soap. It smells like backyard tea parties and well-kept herb gardens in that it’s fresh and grassy and utterly delicious. It also leaves my hands feeling super clean and soft but never stripped of moisture, and for that, my abuela would be proud.” — KC
Best Body Spray
Phlur Moonstone Body & Hair Fragrance Mist ($35)
“Phlur is bringing back body sprays and I feel like I’m in high school again when I used to collect them for fun. This version, however, feels much more elevated thanks to the combination of floral, fruity, and woody notes. Moonstone in particular has been the perfect scent to layer with some of my eau de parfums — it adds a touch of sweetness that makes any perfume feel super feminine and approachable.” — AB
Best Fresh Perfume
L’Objet Kerylos Eau de Parfum ($250)
“Want to smell like a Grecian summer? I sure do. And this gorgeous EDP delivers on that scent profile. To invoke a sun-soaked day lounging next to the Mediterranean, this perfume uses a citrusy blend of yuzu lemon, mandarin orange, and ripe grapefruit, grounded with white musks, sandalwood, and wild herbs. Even the name makes me want to spritz — Kerylos comes from Greek mythology and pays homage to the Kingfisher bird, a symbol of new beginnings and positivity.” — AK
Best Candle
Lumira Cuban Tobacco Candle ($80)
“I grew up with my Cuban father smoking cigars on every special occasion (Cuban, of course, when he could get them) and can confirm this candle does not smell like that. Instead, it’s got a hint of patchouli and soft musks to balance out the smokiness, and perfectly teeters the line between masculine and feminine. Some might call it a cold-weather candle because of its richness, but I think it’s mellow enough for warm, balmy summer nights.” — KC
Best Room Spray
Homecourt Mandarin Basile Room Deodorant ($45)
“Once of my favorite compliments to receive is that I smell good — and that extends to my apartment. Whenever people visit, I love making sure everything smells fresh and clean, and the Homecourt Mandarin Basile Room Deodorant ensures the compliments continue to roll in. It keeps my living room and my bathroom smelling fresh as a daisy — or in this case, a mandarin — plus, the packing is uber chic and looks great on any counter.” — RR
