Joo Hyun Young has decided not to join Season 5 of the “SNL Korea” reboot.
Joo Hyun Young, who appeared on Seasons 1 through 4 of the “SNL Korea” reboot as a regular cast member, decided not to join Season 5. Joo Hyun Young’s agency AIMC revealed the message that Joo Hyun Young shared with the production team of “SNL Korea” herself.
In the message, Joo Hyun Young stated, “It’s still too early and cautious for me to decide on my intention to join [‘SNL Korea Reboot Season 5’], but if I were asked first, I think it might be difficult for me to join the next season.”
The actress further explained, “I still lack the experience and skills to flexibly adapt and change between various projects, so I felt like I need more concentration and time than what I’ve given so far. I’m trying to pioneer a new path that is a little more unfamiliar, uncomfortable, and difficult.”
In addition, Joo Hyun Young expressed her gratitude by sharing, “I would be grateful if you could understand and support me with great generosity. I am grateful to everyone who supported and entrusted me to become a member of the ‘SNL’ crew when I had nothing. It was truly a glorious time.”
The Korean version of “Saturday Night Live” aired for nine seasons on tvN from 2011 through 2017. A completely new reboot of the program premiered in 2021 via the OTT platform Coupang Play with cast members including Shin Dong Yup, Kwon Hyuk Soo, Ahn Young Mi, Jung Sang Hoon, Kim Min Kyo, Joo Hyun Young, and more.
Joo Hyun Young impressed by portraying the bubbly character Dong Geurami in the hit drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and showcased her stable acting skills in the dramas “Behind Every Star” and “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.” The actress is currently gearing up for the release of TVING’s new variety show “Crime Scene Returns.”
