Prime Day is officially next week, but you don’t have to wait until July 16 to score a good deal on headphones or speakers.
Early deals have started cropping up on Amazon, but the kick-off of Walmart Deals (the creatively-named Prime Day counter-programming from the retailer) has driven down the prices of AirPods — like, the entire line of AirPods — to new record lows.
Other exciting deals ahead of Amazon’s mega-sale include markdowns on Samsung Galaxy Buds, Bluetooth speakers from Ultimate Ears, and even an invite-only offering for Sony headphone fans. Bose headphones had been on sale a couple of weeks prior to Prime Day, but at the time of writing are back up to full price.
We’ll be keeping this post updated with this best deals at Amazon in the lead up to Prime Day, so check back if you don’t see anything catching your eye quite yet.

Though we haven’t tested these headphones out, we can say that Sony has figured something out with its headphones, even if the names of most of them look like keyboard smashes. For the Sony WH-CH720N, the brand claims you’ll get noise cancellation, up to 35 hours of battery life, multipoint connection, and some of the lighter headphones they’ve made.

In all honesty, we don’t usually give our recommendation for the AirPods Max in most situations. We don’t love that they never fully turn off and that they come without a 3.5mm audio jack, but most of all we dislike their overinflated price tag.

However, when they’re on sale, they’re more worth considering, especially if you’re an Apple fan. At $399, or $250 off, this is the absolute lowest price we’ve ever seen them at by over $25. Prior to this deal, this past year has seen the Maxes occasionally hit the sale price of $449, but not too frequently, and not typically for every available colorway. In other words, if you’ve been waiting to pick up a pair of Apple’s over-ear headphones, this is the time.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are down to their lowest price ever, according to the price tracker camelcamelcamel. Though these earbuds were released in 2022, they remain an Editor’s Choice award winner at our sister site PCMag (also owned by Ziff Davis) thanks to their “astoundingly effective noise cancellation” and sound signature that’s great for “anyone who likes rich bass and bright highs.” At $169.95, these earbuds are much more affordable than newer premium models while offering you a similar product, minus extras like turning the ANC off or wireless charging for the case.

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 is a great value speaker when it’s at full price, making it even more of a get marked down about $15. The price cut comes as Ultimate Ears has just released their next gen of the speaker (we’re currently testing it to see if it belongs on the list of our favorites), but it doesn’t seem there’s a stark difference between the two speakers. If you need a speaker that’s compact and rugged, and don’t care too much about having customizable EQ or a companion app, the Wonderboom 3 will check your boxes.
