Alex Newhook out 10 to 12 weeks

Big news.

The Canadiens have just announced that Alex Newhook will be out for 10 to 12 weeks with a sprained ankle. That’s quite a blow for the CH.

Forward Alex Newhook will be out for approximately 10 to 12 weeks with a sprained ankle.

Remember that in the CH’s last game, Newhook injured himself in two different places. The forward left for the dressing room twice, the second time for good.

So there was cause for concern, and the sprain shows us that yes, his case is serious.

Nick Suzuki loses a winger with whom a certain chemistry was developing, which is a shame for the captain. But at least he’s visibly reuniting with Caufield.

At practice this morning, Sean Monahan and Caufield were on the first line with the captain.

CH trios at practice:

Caufield-Suzuki-Monahan
Gallagher-Dvorak-Anderson
Pearson-Evans-Slafkovsky
Armia-Stephens-Ylonen

Matheson-Lindstrom
