Ah, the cursed injuries.
At this rate, I don’t think the Montreal Canadiens will ever escape the curse that has haunted the team since last season.
It’s simply impressive, but also ridiculous, how unlucky the CH are once again this season, with several key players suffering major injuries.
Indeed, after the horrific injury to Kirby Dach (who will miss the entire season), things really haven’t calmed down for the Tricolore.
The team has since lost the services of David Savard (for several weeks), Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (for several weeks), Kaiden Guhle (for a few games) and recently Jordan Harris and Arber Xhekaj (for unspecified periods).
It should also be remembered that Christian Dvorak did not start the season.
In short, these are already huge losses and absences for the CH.
And as if that weren’t enough, Alex Newhook, who is on a very good run with six points, including four goals, in his last seven games, was injured in Thursday’s game against the Florida Panthers.
And the latest news is that we have good reason to be very concerned about his state of health.
Alex Newhook’s situation isn’t particularly reassuring, says @renlavoietva: https: //t.co/h5pWtFt4Jp

Indeed, as Renaud Lavoie explains, this is a very bad omen for Newhook.
First of all, we all saw that the CH number 15 was unable to put any weight on his left leg when he retreated to the dressing room at the start of the third period.
That is all of Newhook’s weight, with speed, twisting his ankle against the net. Not good. pic.twitter.com/WFlfUMhmUg

Secondly, it should be remembered that Newhook had already retired to the dressing room earlier in the game after falling heavily against the boards.
It was his right leg that was in bad shape after that fall.
In short, this means that not only does Newhook appear to have a serious injury to his left leg, but he may also have a second injury, this one to his right leg.
If Newhook is out for an extended period of time (which he probably will be), it will be truly horrible news for the CH.
Newhook finally seemed to be coming into his own in the last few games, and we were seeing a nice progression in his game.
Kent Hughes’ two big young acquisitions (Dach and Newhook) could therefore be on the bench at the same time, for a long time to come.
Stay tuned.

You sensed last year during his interviews that he was unhappy. I don’t want to say that the decision was made with him, but almost.
We’ll remember that Europe, including Clermont, has already sent him signals… pic.twitter.com/iSDDlPRhQK

Sunusi, I think a lot of people forget that he’s only 21. I also think he’s been misused.
Olivier Renard makes no secret of the fact that he loves his striker.
