Shaun Tam (譚俊彥), Ali Lee (李佳芯), David Chiang (姜大衞), Rosita Kwok (郭柏妍), Telford Wong (黃庭鋒), and Brian Tse (謝東閔) attended the blessing ceremony for new TVB drama Mahjong Orchestra . Shaun and Ali will play a couple in the light-hearted comedy.
With the long filming hours at the indoor set, the cast felt they were trapped in the studio. Shaun joked he just discovered Ali’s fruit-cutting skills as she was cutting beautiful fruit platters to help boost everyone’s vitamin C levels. Ali laughed and said she was responsible for cutting fruits at home since a young age.
Although Ali had not filmed dramas for two years, she got used to it immediately after just one week of filming. Known for being a ratings lucky charm, she did not feel burdened by the expectations. She felt she has a lot of chemistry with Shaun in a light hearted environment and hoped the audience can feel it.
Recently, Johnson Lee (李思捷) parodied Ali’s classic role in AI Romantic on TriStar Academy and arrogantly said she was not fully unfrozen yet. Afterward, he parodied the scene where she changed clothing, which was censored out when it aired on TV. This seemed to be a play on Ali’s current situation where she was censored on a live stream in China.
Commenting on Johnson’s parody, Ali generously replied she thought the idea was quite good, “They’re pretty open, and you can joke about it within the company. It can also generate some news headlines. At least there’s a point for people to talk about and remember you by. The audience is also entertained.”
Denying being frozen, Ali stated, “You can see me now in public. Since we’re talking about this, it’s water under the bridge. I haven’t watched the show yet but this problem has been talked about for years. The most important thing is you can still see me.”
