Following news yesterday that Noah Hawley’s “Alien” series had wrapped production, it seems the series has settled on a title – “Alien: Earth”.
FX network boss John Landgraf and showrunner Noah Hawley revealed the new title for the eight-episode series to Variety while discussing the Emmy nominations for “Fargo” this morning.
Hawley confirms production has wrapped and now he’s into a long post-production and visual effects schedule for the series.
As the show isn’t due out for a good year or so, he’s got time to try things:
“It’s a very big show. It’s nice to have some time with it. The first year of anything, you want to feel like you’re not up against the wall in terms of time. I’ve seen four of the eight hours of director cuts and engaged in the process of figuring out, cinematically, what it wants to be. It’s one of my favorite parts of of making a show.”
Landgraf says his network is “pretty bullish on ‘Alien: Earth’” and he’s told Hawley the network wants him to focus on writing a second season of that before returning to a potential sixth season of “Fargo”.
Before that we’re getting “Alien: Romulus” in cinemas next month and today Cinemark Theaters have released their elaborate popcorn bucket for the film which you can see below.
