TNT
The fourth and final season of sci-fi drama series “Snowpiercer” has found a home with the Tomorrow Studios-produced series set to air on AMC.
TNT scrapped the show last year as part of the Warner Bros. Discovery content write-down strategy which saw “Batgirl” cut in post-production and several series axed. The fourth season was in production mid-2022 and was basically finished before the content write downs.
AMC has acquired the rights to the full series with the first three seasons of the show to stream on AMC+ later this year. The fourth season will air on the linear network and the streaming service in early 2025.
The series follows the passengers of a perpetually moving train carrying the remnants of humanity after the world becomes a frozen wasteland. Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Jennifer Connelly, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Rowan Blanchard and Clark Gregg star.
The series scored critical acclaim and strong ratings, the show premiering as the top scripted drama on all of ad-supported cable in 2020.
It marks a second recent series AMC has saved after being scrapped elsewhere with the network buying the Captain Nemo series “Nautilus” after it was cut by Disney+.
