The pro-poppers bop and its accompanying twink fantasia video had Cohen gushing with bestie Anderson Cooper about the kind of representation queer kids have these days. Then, as a gay elder, Cohen gave Sivan some advice on the popular inhalant.

“This song came out and blew everybody away. I mean, it is an earworm,” Cohen said of the sizzling summer single. “I gotta tell you something. The video, I was talking to Anderson Cooper about this actually.”
He continued, “And we were like, ‘You know, if this video had come out when we were your age, it would’ve done so much for us.’ I’m so happy for everyone that they get to have you and Lil Nas X because you are changing the game and the representation is superb.”
Sivan was honored by Cohen’s words, calling them “the greatest compliment that I can ever receive,” and discussed the impetus for the video: being gay and having fun. Sivan called the viral clip “basically like a documentary.”
Then the dad, or daddy, came out in Cohen and he warned Sivan about poppers.
“Now, you know, poppers are dangerous,” Cohen told Sivan, who rolls his eyes when his gay father is talking to him. “Okay, so we just don’t do too many. Well, just in moderation. In moderation.”
“Great. Okay,” Sivan replied. “Thanks, dad.”
And because poppers are dangerous, unless in moderation (again, thanks, dad), Cohen adds, “I’m gonna tell you where to get the best poppers in New York City when we get off the air.”
Meanwhile, if Andy Cohen is so concerned with twink safety, he should’ve told Troye Sivan where to get the best poppers in New York City on the air. After all, the more you know.
