The BGIS Finals are set to be a grand affair as it will happen at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Mumbai in front of a live audience. Krafton has already announced that tickets will be available for free and this will be the first BGMI esports event which will have a live audience. It will happen on Oct. 12, 13 and 15. The likely one-day gap for the Grand Finals on Oct. 14 is due to the highly-anticipated fixture in the ICC Cricket World Cup between India and Pakistan.

India’s biggest BGMI esports event sees the omission of some of the biggest teams

The BGIS 2023 is undoubtedly set to be one of the biggest BGMI esports tournaments to date. However, two of the biggest teams from the country have failed to qualify.

Firstly, it’s GodLike Esports who were knocked out of the competition. The once dominant team had been struggling since the game got unbanned in third-party tournaments. Despite some roster shuffles and the signing of Spower, they couldn’t leave a mark in the BGIS, getting knocked out in the Quarterfinals itself.

Secondly, was the surprise exit of Soul Esports. The team had been performing well and fans expected to see them in the Grand Finals. However, they struggled to perform in the Semifinals. They placed 23rd with just 60 points, far behind being in contention for a Grand Finals spot.

With two fan favorite teams not competing in the BGIS Grand Finals 2023, though, it remains to be seen how the viewership for the tournament remains.
