Acting veterans Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson along with Brandon Lessard (“Robert the Bruce”) are teaming up for “Unholy Trinity,” a new Western movie currently shooting at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Bozeman, Montana.
The project has secured a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement and will be helmed by Australian filmmaker Richard Gray (“Murder at Yellowstone City,” “Blinder,” “Sugar Mountain”) in what is dubbed a tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures.
Set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana, it picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task. He must murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit.
Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).
The project was penned by acclaimed Australian comedy writer Lee Zachariah (“The Bazura Project,” “Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell”). Carter Boehm, Richard Gray, Colin Floom, Michele Gray, Kellie Brooks and Jeanne Allgood are producing.
News of this new Western film comes as filmmaker Alexander Payne (“Sideways,” “The Descendants”) revealed in France on Sunday that he and collaborative partner David Hemingson are teaming up for their own new Western movie – said to be a dream project of Payne’s.
