As rumored, Burial has a new release for XL Recordings on the way. The British producer, whose landmark albums for Hyperdub shaped the fledgling label’s fortunes in the 2000s, will share his first release for another label on February 9, the two-track single “Dreamfear / Boy Sent From Above.” The label has shared some new merch along with the news.
Since releasing his 2005 debut and breakout record, Untrue, in 2007, Burial has preferred shortform releases, including a string of EPs collected on the compilation Tunes 2011 to 2019. Since then, he has released collaborative EPs with Blackdown, Four Tet and Thom Yorke, and, last year, Hyperdub founder Kode9, as well as a couple more EPs: Antidawn and Streetlands.
