Cardi B has voiced her hesitance in endorsing U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris as the democratic candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election following President Joe Biden‘s announcement that he will be exiting the race.
On Sunday (July 21), the Bronx native took to social media to share her reaction to Biden’s abrupt news that he will no longer be running for reelection come November. When one social media user asked if Cardi will publicly back Harris’ potential presidential bid, the hitmaker revealed that she feels the need to evaluate her thoughts regarding her endorsement.
“I need a second honey this hit me too quick,” the 31-year-old wrote in response to the inquiry. “It happened to abruptly I’m actually kinda scared now. Like I got not words.” She added in another reply, “I with they would had ushered someone new way before everything started …this is some scary sh*t now.”

Biden, who defeated Trump in the 2020 Presidential Election, cited that despite his “intention to seek reelection,” he believes it’s in “the best interest” of the Democratic party and the country as a whole that he bow out of the race.
According to the Delawarean, he plans to focus on “fulfilling his Presidential duties for the remainder of his term,” as he revealed on X. “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”

Cardi B has been public about her various political stances throughout her career, openly questioning and challenging both Biden and Trump’s decisions during their respective terms in office. Earlier this year, the Invasion of Privacy creator voiced her displeasure with the incumbent and his challenger while speaking on the upcoming election with Rolling Stone.
“I don’t f**k with both of y’all n***as,” Cardi said of Biden and Trump. “It’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody. Then, it really gets me upset that there is solutions to it. There is a solution. I know there’s a solution because you’re spending billions of dollars on any f***ing thing.”
