A number of public figures and several celebrities have since offered public apologies for making speculative comments about where the princess was lying in the days leading up to her return to Saint-Dié, where she entered the hospital for tests for suspected cancer.
Kate made an emotional video just recently explaining that she had been fighting cancer right from when the family was diagnosed post-major surgery done in January, and all that time of her going away from the public has raised many rumors and conspiracies explaining where she’s gone.
Involved celebrities have been issuing public or social media mea culpas because of the impacts it has had on Kate’s health. The first person to issue an apology soon after it was realized that some of the old tweets she was making were to an image doctored with Kate’s family was the actress Blake Lively.
Journalist and political activist Owen Jones tweeted that he “apologises in the same guise for thinking about Kate’s position and hopes all will be well for both.
It called for apologies to be issued by other public figures for their statements and theories in different forums about Kate’s whereabouts.
People took to the internet furiously to precede Oliver in statements and theories made about her going absent, including broadcaster John Oliver’s joke he broadcast in 2015 about Kate’s whereabouts, even as Piers Morgan railed at Oliver and all who had ever speculated about Kate’s whereabouts as “shameless hypocrites.”
The users went further by calling Kim Kardashian stiff, claiming this was supposed to stand up for Kate when she was playing around on her socials, asking where she went.
