Right after winning TVB’s Best Actress Award, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) wasted no time and flew to Shanghai for a New Year Event in a shopping mall. Charmaine’s attendance attracted the attention of the media and fans who waited to congratulate her on her win.
Speaking to the media, Charmaine shared that she felt honored and surprised for the award. At this stage in her career, the award was both a recognition of her work, encouragement for her future acting career, and a reminder that hard work is rewarded. As Charmaine wanted to have more breakthroughs in the future, she vowed to continue to work hard.
When the media mentioned that Charmaine’s character in The Queen of News is now deeply rooted in the audience’s hearts, Charmaine chimed in that her personality in real life is quite different and she would strive to have a work-life balance. Although Charmaine agreed that she is also a career-oriented woman with her own opinions and judgement, she claimed that she is not nearly as confident and strong as her character.
Having acted many roles throughout her career, Charmaine revealed that her memorable character would be from 2004’s drama War and Beauty . As this was the first time Charmaine played a villainous role, it was also the first time that Charmaine learned to hold back to control and conceal her acting. This eventually had a big impact on all her subsequent acting roles.
