As promised, Donald Glover has released his new Childish Gambino song “Lithonia.” It’s the first taste of Glover’s new Gambino album Bando Stone & the New World. Check out “Lithonia”—co-produced by Glover, Ludwig Göransson, Max Martin, and Michael Uzowuru—below.
Along with “Lithonia,” Glover has shared that Bando Stone & the New World is out July 19 via RCA. A press release confirms that it “serves as the final album under his Childish Gambino imprint.”
Over the weekend, Glover shared a trailer for the Bando Stone & the New World movie. The film, starring and directed by Glover, features music from the new album.
Glover has been teasing the end of his Childish Gambino moniker since 2017. Far from retiring, however, Glover, as Gambino, went on to release the hit single “This Is America,” another notable song in “Summertime Magic,” the 2020 album 3.15.20, and the recent re-recording Atavista.
Beginning in August, Glover will go on a tour that stretches into 2024, with dates in North America, Europe, and Australia. Supporting him at various stops are Willow and Amaarae.
Before the tour, he’ll host an “exclusive interactive experience” on July 6 in New York called “Childish Gambino Live From Little Island.” The event will be the first chance for fans to hear the musician’s new album.
