Actor Russell Crowe is pretty much done being asked about Ridley Scott’s currently in-production “Gladiator” sequel.
The Oscar-winning Aussie actor has been attending the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic this week, where he accepted an award for outstanding contribution to world cinema.
Crowe has been sharing colourful anecdotes from the time an aroused tarantula got frisky with his neck on the set of “Rough Magic,” to complaining about “never-ending questions about beer” according to Variety.
However, there’s one topic he’s obviously sick of being asked about and that’s “Gladiator 2”. Speaking with journalists at the fest, he says:
“They should be f—— paying me for the amount of questions I am asked about a film I am not even in. It has nothing to do with me. In that world, I am dead. Six feet under. But I do admit to a certain tinge of jealousy because it reminds me of when I was younger and what it meant for me in my life.
I don’t know anything about the cast, I don’t know anything about the plot. I am dead! But I know that if Ridley has decided to do a second part of the story over 20 years later, he must have had very strong reasons. I can’t think of this movie being anything other than spectacular.”
Crowe, who will soon be seen in several upcoming films, including “Kraven the Hunter,” “The Georgetown Project,” and “Nuremberg,” with him playing Hermann Göring in the latter.
