If you were anywhere near Marina Bay Sands earlier this month, you’ll have undoubtedly noticed the area swarming with Crypto Expo Asia attendees. Over 10,000 attendees from more than 30 countries, representing over 80 companies, made their way to Singapore for the conference. The event – recognized as one of the region’s largest crypto events – broke the record for the largest attendance in the history of its Asia edition.
Taking place across two days, this year’s Crypto Expo Asia featured headlining speakers from a number of big names, including Amazon Web Services, Luganodes, Benzinga, NodeReal, Cake DeFi, Telesign, Solve.Care, RockX, Pixelmon, Coinhako, EMURGO Media, Mantle Network, Matrixport, and Headquarters (HQ.xyz).
“The record turnout witnessed at Crypto Expo Asia cements the region’s reputation of having one of the most tech-savvy and crypto-friendly populations globally. Businesses and governments are seeing that the impact of blockchain technology extends far beyond just cryptocurrencies, having the potential to transform legacy industries including financial services, gaming, healthcare and more, enabling greater security, transparency, and traceability, for both consumers and regulators,” said Michael Xuan, Director of Crypto Expo Asia.
As we previously reported, one of the key messages for this year’s event was to encourage collaboration between leading regional associations and industry players. Consequently, the event was carried out in partnership with several regional big names such as the Asia Blockchain Gaming Alliance, Asia Blockchain Association, ACCESS Blockchain Association Malaysia, Asosiasi Blockchain Indonesia, Singapore Fintech Association, and the Singapore University of Social Sciences Node for Inclusive FinTech Blockchain Security Alliance.
The event was packed with a slew of presentations and panel discussions covering topics like the role of policymakers when it comes to crypto investments, the shift from Web2 to Web3, as well as the current blockchain landscape within Asia. Speakers included various CEO’s and department heads from prominent companies such as Alpha Impact, Pixelmon, NodeReal, and Coinhako.
Crypto Expo Global, which is the collective name for Crypto Expo events held worldwide, is organized by international exhibitions and conference company HQMENA. Following the Singapore event, future conferences are already scheduled to take place in Dubai and Miami on September 20-21 and November 16-17, respectively, although these will be officially rebranded as “Blockchain Expo Global” conferences. Xuan explained that the rebranding decision was made in order “to reflect the broadening acceptance and adoption of blockchain.”
More information about participating in future Blockchain Expo Global events, including Asia-specific editions, can be found on their website.
