Da Brat and Judy Welcome Their Baby Boy, True Legend

Rapper Da Brat, known for her groundbreaking contributions to hip-hop, and Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products, joyfully announced the arrival of their baby boy, True Legend Harris-Dupart. This marks Da Brat’s first experience as a mother at the age of 49, and the couple couldn’t be more thrilled to embrace this new chapter in their lives.

Baby True Legend made his presence to the world in Atlanta, Georgia on July 6th, 2023, weighing in at 7lbs,8oz., and 20 cm long.   Da Brat took to social media to share the exciting news of their newborn son’s arrival. 

Brat and Judy blogged the c-section delivery, with the Sosodef rapper in a hospital gown and bonnet, a fresh face, and a full set of lashes.  When the doctors exclaimed from behind the curtain “We’ve got a baby!”  her eyes lit up. The moment she heard her baby boy’s cry a tear flowed down her cheek.

In an announcement on social media, new mommy, Da Brat, exclaimed, “ I can’t BELIEVE he came out of me! Feels like a dream. He’s PERFECT in every way. Very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy. This journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined.”

In a heartfelt blog post, Da Brat opened up about her journey to motherhood and the challenges she faced along the way. After experiencing a heartbreaking miscarriage shortly after their marriage in 2022, Da Brat’s desire to have a child grew stronger. She fell in love with the idea of becoming a mother and felt the loss deeply. However, with the arrival of baby True, Da Brat and Jesseca have been blessed with a second chance at parenthood.

Da Brat and Jesseca initially had discussions about who would carry their child. Jesseca, already a mother of three, wanted Da Brat to have the experience of carrying a child of her own. Despite some initial hesitation, Da Brat ultimately agreed, recognizing Jesseca’s nurturing nature and the desire to create a bond that they could both share. The couple says the decision to bring baby True into the world has strengthened their love and connection.

Just before the birth of their son, Jesseca surprised Da Brat with a “pre-push gift” – a selection of Tesla options. Knowing that Da Brat had always desired a Tesla, Jesseca took an unsuspecting Da Brat for a Sunday afternoon drive that ended up at the Tesla dealership.  Brat cried tears of joy as she saw Judy’s surprise of three different Tesla Model X’s to choose from.

Da Brat and Jesseca have been open about their relationship since they started dating in 2019 and marrying in 2022. They have shared many intimate moments with their followers on social media. 

In addition, the couple has also been open about their struggles with fertility, and it’s clear that the news of their pregnancy and the gender reveal was a very special moment for them.

Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart, also known as @Darealbbjudy, have been trying for a child since 2022.  After Jesseca suffered from a miscarriage in 2022, Da Brat took to TikTok and revealed her baby bump at 48 years old on Feb. 21, 2023. 

Fans flooded the comments in celebration of their announcement. The happy couple officially tied the knot last year on 2/22/22, creating history as the first Queer rap artist to get married.

Brat and her fiancee announced this morning they are expecting their first child together! Kaleidoscope Hair Products CEO Jesseca Dupart and Da Brat posted pictures making a heart on Jesseca’s stomach and captioned it “We are EXTENDING the family🤰🏽”

The first female solo rap act to receive a platinum certification has since been flooded with love from the community! Congrats are in order!
