Award-winning singer, Davido is marking this year’s Father’s Day in tears.

Taking to his Instagram story, the father of three, who is marking his first Father’s Day since his son’s death, revealed that it is a difficult day for him.

However, he is grateful for God’s strength as he noted how some days will be like this.

“Difficult Father’s Day for me… But I thank God for strength.

Some days will be like this

Water full my eyes but I’ll be alright FOREVER”.

Ifeanyi is dead

Recall that Davido and his wife Chioma Rowland lost their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke in October, just a few days after his 3rd birthday.

According to information, Ifeanyi Adeleke got drowned. A source close to the family stated, “The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital,” the family source said under anonymity to await an official statement.

He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Davido speaks on Ifeanyi’s death, reveals his source of strength

Speaking out on the aftermath of his son’s death in an interview with Vanguard newspaper, Davido revealed that he still cries every morning whenever he thinks of his son.

He noted how many expected his latest album, ‘Timeless’ to have a sad theme because of the loss of his son, but he opted for “bangers”.

On his source of strength, the Afrobeat singer stated that he has to be strong for Ifeanyi’s mother, Chioma Rowland, who is his wife.

He added that the love he receives from people also keeps him going and he believes his son and his late mother are dancing to his songs in heaven.

Davido breaks down in tears as he speaks about his son’s death

In a previous interview with CNN, Davido broke down in tears as he spoke about his son’s untimely death.

He revealed that grieving the loss of his son had some impact on his album.

According to him, he had finished the album before the tragic loss, which made him take a step back.

“Before my son passed, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation, and I had to calm myself down and take a step back”.

He stated that he and his wife, Chioma Rowland, didn’t deserve that.
