“Doctor Cha” star Myung Se Bin talked about the tight-knit bond between the cast and more on SBS’s “My Little Old Boy”!
On the June 18 episode of the popular variety show, Myung Se Bin made a guest appearance as a special MC. The actress, who earned the title of “nation’s first love” during the early days of her career, recently re-entered the spotlight due to her memorable performance in the smash hit drama “Doctor Cha.”
Because Myung Se Bin played the role of Uhm Jung Hwa‘s husband’s mistress in the drama, she revealed that many of the show’s viewers had negative things to say about her character when they saw her in person. “They say they ‘hate’ me, but they’re also really happy to see me,” she explained with a smile. “Actually, the more they insult [my character in the drama], the more I realize just how popular the drama really is. So I actually feel great even when they say bad things.”
Myung Se Bin also shared that the “Doctor Cha” cast had their own group chat—and that they met up in person to watch the drama together when it aired on TV.
“Even we didn’t expect for our viewership ratings to keep skyrocketing like that, so we kept texting each other to share good news and say things like, ‘Whoa, these are our ratings for today,’” recalled the actress. “The atmosphere [in the chat] was so great. And we also sometimes got together to watch the drama while eating dinner.”
Later on, host Shin Dong Yup asked if it was true that Myung Se Bin’s mother had asked her to freeze her eggs for the future, and the actress confirmed that it was.
“Yes, I did get them frozen,” she said, before adding with a laugh, “But I’m so old now that I don’t know if I’ll be able to do anything with them.”
