Doja Cat made a sudden move in the world of album artwork as her upcoming album Scarlet encountered an unexpected hiccup. The initial cover art was replaced after it bore an uncanny resemblance to an artwork used by the German heavy metal band CHAVER for their upcoming release OF GLOOM.

Doja Cat announced her eagerly anticipated album Scarlet on August 29, accompanied by what she believed to be its striking cover art. However, a mere day later, the “Streets” rapper swiftly retracted the image, recognizing the resemblance to the cover art of CHAVER’s upcoming heavy metal album.

Both artworks were the work of artist Dusty Ray, making the convergence all the more peculiar.

The unexpected design overlap set the internet abuzz with discussions and debates among fans and observers.

Some fans expressed confusion and disappointment, questioning the artist’s decision to utilize a similar design for two different musical genres. One fan shared their sentiment, saying, “I don’t understand why the artist did that to them…”

Responding to the unexpected turn of events, the Planet Her artist promptly unveiled a revamped album cover. This new version features a reinterpretation of the red spider emblem that was present on her previous album cover.

The pink spider on the updated artwork now boasts a unique twist with its pearl-studded body. Unveiling the updated album cover, Doja Cat captioned her post with the release date, “SCARLET 9.22 (updated cover),” revealing her determination to rectify the situation swiftly.

Doja’s announcement was met with mixed reactions from fans.

Among the reactions to the photo, one fan wrote, “I think we’ve had enough of this era.”However, another fan praised the image, saying, “This cover art is chillingly good. To further promote her upcoming album, Doja Cat also announced a headlining arena North American tour called the Scarlet Tour, which is set to kick off on October 31, 2023. However, amidst the excitement surrounding her tour, the Planet Her artist faced backlash from fans after she expressed on social media that she doesn’t love her fans because she doesn’t “know” them.

The controversial comments have led to some fans reconsidering their attendance at the tour.
