Ghanaians have blamed the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Bawumia for being responsible for Asantewaa losing her Sing-a-thon attempt.
They claimed his presence at the event made it easier for the Guinness World Record to disqualify Afua Asantewaa Aduonum.
A few days ago, the Guinness World Record (GWR) disqualified Ghana’s Afua Asantewaa’s sing-a-thon attempt.
In a tweet responding to a comment enquiring about her attempt, the GWR said “Unfortunately, Afua’s Guinness World Record attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful but we hope that she will make another attempt soon.”
The GWR also noted that the evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service hence her earlier payment has been refunded.
Reacting to this, some Ghanaians believe that if Dr Bawumia hadn’t visited the venue, Asantewaa would have still won.
Meanwhile, Asantewaa has released a statement about her next line of action after her failed sing-a-thon attempt.
