Ecuadorian model Landy Párraga Goyburo was tragically killed in a stunning restaurant shooting event that occurred throughout the day. It’s believed that the deadly incident occurred because an Instagram post made her presence at the restaurant known.
With rumors circulating that her death may have been connected to her purported relationship with the widow of a drug boss, law enforcement is looking into the 23-year-old’s death. As reported by The New York Post, Goyburo was having a conversation with someone inside the business when masked attackers broke in. Shots were fired shortly after, going for Goyburo and her friend. After the attack, the offenders quickly left the site.
Known for her representation of Los Rios province in the 2022 Miss Ecuador pageant, Goyburo had a sizable internet following—more than a million people followed her on social media. She had also dabbled with designing sportswear.
In December, details from a chat between the late drug trafficker Leandro Norero and his accountant Helive Angulo surfaced, bringing her name back to light. Goyburo was the target of a financial investigation by the Attorney General’s Office even though she was not charged. She kept her mouth shut about Norero during this time.
