Emma Watson’s White Sweater and Miniskirt Combo Is So Rory Gilmore Coded

Emma Watson may have played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movie series, but she channeled another fictional overachiever during Milan Fashion Week.

After attending the Prada spring/summer 2024 show in a little black halter dress and a sweet hair bow, Watson stepped out in another head-to-toe Prada look that easily could have been stolen from Rory Gilmore’s closet (if Rory had an Emily Gilmore-sized budget, that is). The 31-year-old actor was dressed in a chunky white sweater that gives off the same cozy vibes as the covetable fisherman cable-knit worn by Rory in the pilot episode of Gilmore Girls. You know, the one the girlies have been obsessing over since the literal year 2000.

Watson paired the slightly cropped Prada sweater with a navy miniskirt with the same collegiate flair as Rory’s Chilton uniform. However, the Little Woman star gave the preppy ensemble a grownup appeal with a pair of cream slingback heels and a white half-moon Prada shoulder bag. What was in that shoulder bag, you ask? Oh, just a single white rose, which is totally normal.

Of course, we’re not looking at a Rory sweater dupe, as the Prada turtleneck with gold button details doesn’t feature the same cable-knit design, neckline, or length. Still, I’m positive Rory Gilmore would put this look on her Fall 2023 Pinterest board. As you can see from the photo of Watson entering her vehicle in Milan, the slightly cropped sweater still features finger-length sleeves perfect for sipping a warm mug of coffee from Luke’s Diner.
