Far Cry 6 Will Not Be Seeing Anymore Updates

Far Cry 6 Is No Longer Getting Updates but Online Services Will Remain On

Ubisoft recently delivered a bit of disappointing news for Far Cry 6 fans. The popular game will no longer receive updates, as confirmed in a tweet from the official Far Cry Twitter account. While the game’s online services will persist, there will be no further patches or updates.

The tweet expressed gratitude to the millions of players who have engaged with the game. Additionally, adventures in Yara will continue without any disruptions to online services. However, the development team will no longer provide updates for Far Cry 6.

The gaming community’s passion, creativity, and fondness for the game were acknowledged in the tweet. The post humorously concluded that even the game’s antagonist, Anton, would be proud of the player community.

Far Cry 6 DLC

Earlier this year, there were reports suggesting that Ubisoft is actively working on Far Cry 7. It was also suggested that the standalone multiplayer game be set in the Far Cry universe. Far Cry 7 is said to be developed using Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, a departure from the Dunia engine used in recent installments.

The standalone multiplayer game is reportedly an extraction-based shooter taking place in the Alaskan wilderness. While these titles are tentatively scheduled for a fall/autumn 2025 release, Ubisoft is clearly preparing for the future of the Far Cry franchise.

Make sure you stay tuned for more news on Far Cry 7, which we will be covering as updates continue to arise.
