In response to a devastating 6.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred in his homeland of Morocco, French Montana announced his partnership with Global Citizen and CARE.org during the 2023 MTV VMAs on September 12. The “Unforgettable” rapper also pledged $100,000 to support Morocco through this challenging time.
Montana expressed his concern and desire to help his home country, stating:
“Before we get to the nominees, I want to spread some love and light to Morocco. They’ve been hit with a big earthquake. I’m setting up an emergency fund with Globalcitizen.org/Morocco.”
The following day, he took to Twitter (X) to further promote his cause, urging his fans to join him in supporting the people of Morocco through the partnership with Global Citizen and CARE.org.

The earthquake caused devastation in entire villages and resulted in numerous families losing their homes. The loss of lives has been a significant tragedy.
French’s collaboration with Global Citizen and CARE.org aims to provide much-needed support and assistance to those affected by the earthquake in Morocco.
This isn’t the first time French Montana has used his platform and resources to impact positively. The “Pop That” rapper ventured beyond the music industry to use his influence for social causes.
In collaboration with Informed Immigrant, an online platform dedicated to raising awareness about available resources for immigrants, Montana released a promotional video on his YouTube channel on June 15. The video aimed to provide information about vital services, including legal assistance and mental health support, for immigrants.
In other French Montana news, the rapper sold his luxurious mansion in Los Angeles’ prestigious Hidden Hills neighborhood in June 2023, further diversifying his real estate portfolio and exploring investment opportunities in different locations, including Miami, Los Angeles, New York, and potentially overseas.
