Way Maker is a gospel song by popular Nigerian singer, Sinach. The song was released on December 30, 2015, and has since had covers performed by several Christian music artists worldwide, including charting hit versions by Michael W. Smith, Mandisa, Leeland and Passion.
“Way Maker” reached the top spot in the Christian Copyright Licensing International Top 100 songs in 2020. In October of the same year, the song won the Dove Award for “Song of the Year” at the 51st GMA Dove Awards in the United States, making Sinach the first Nigerian gospel artist to win the award. In August 2021, “Way Maker” became the first African song to win the BMI “Song of the Year”.
