Green Day have announced a stadium tour of North America with the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas, Rolling Stone and Stereogum report. The band revealed the news during their concert in downtown Las Vegas Thursday night. Tour dates have not yet been announced. Green Day also debuted a song titled “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” from their next album. The single will arrive on October 24, as the band revealed.
“I have a big announcement. It’s really big. Get your cameras ready,” frontman Billie Joe reportedly told the audience at Las Vegas’ Fremont Country Club before confirming that the band would embark on a stadium tour next year.
This year, Green Day reissued Dookie for its 30th anniversary. The Smashing Pumpkins, who released Atum this year, embarked on a tour with Interpol and Stone Temple Pilots in July.
