According to Mary Phillips, the makeup artist responsible for the look, the trick to getting them right is to use several different shades of brown for a natural and multi-tonal finish. When it comes to your tool of choice, eyeliner and lip liner work equally well, or you can try a liquid brow pen as long as you have a steady hand.
As for the placement of your freckles, anything goes—just as long as you don’t overdo it. While a few tapped over the bridge of the nose is a shortcut to instantly sun-kissed skin, an application of faux freckles following the curve of cheekbone, as Hailey Bieber’s do, delivers more of a sculpted, after-dark vibe, yet with the same youthful freshness.
