Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 3-2 in a Premier League match at Old Trafford on Tuesday, with Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund scoring his first league goal for the Red Devils.

Erik ten Hag’s men were two goals down by the 26th minute. John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker scored in the 21st and 26th minutes as Unai Emery’s men dominated the game.
Hojlund scores his first league goal for United
Future director and current Ineos head of sport, Sir Dave Brailsford, watched the match from the directors’ box.
After McGinn and Dendoncker’s goals, United rallied after the interval and refused to let their heads drop even after Alejandro Garnacho had a goal disallowed by VAR for a marginal offside.

It was the 19-year-old Argentine who led the fightback, scoring twice in a game for the first time in his career to turn the game on its head.
Hojlund reacted quickest and rammed the ball home after Bruno Fernandes’ corner had struck McGinn and bounced free inside a packed penalty area to give United the lead and score his first league goal for the club.

The relief for Hojlund and his teammates was clear to see, with goalkeeper Andre Onana racing the full length of the pitch to join in the celebrations as Ten Hag bounced in delight, his fists clenched in evident celebration.
Aston Villa missed the chance to join Liverpool at the top of the table after the latter beat a stubborn Burnley side 2-0 earlier.
