Chad Michael Murray’s love story began on the set of One Tree Hill when he met his co-star Sophia Bush. Their on-screen chemistry quickly turned into a real-life romance, and the couple tied the knot in 2005.
Despite their initial bliss, the couple faced challenges that ultimately led to the end of their marriage. They separated after just five months. Their breakup was highly publicized, and their divorce was finalized in 2006. Sophia later admitted in an interview that getting married “was not a thing [she] really wanted.” It was also rumored that Chad cheated on her with Paris Hilton while they were still married.
He began dating another co-star.
Soon after the couple’s divorce, Chad popped the question to Kenzie Dalton, who was an extra on One Tree Hill. She was 18 years old and six years younger than Chad. “She is a little stunner. She is a sweetheart. She is my best friend, and we have been together a long time,” he gushed over his fiance three years into their relationship.
The couple went steady for seven years but couldn’t make it to the aisle. They separated in 2013.

Chad met Sarah Roemer while filming Chosen in 2013. In 2015, the couple announced they were quietly married and expecting their baby boy. In 2017, they welcomed a daughter.
After 8 years, the couple is still going strong.
“For me, growing up with a single father most of my life, I never truly knew the importance of a mother until I had the honor of watching you carry this family on your back from that moment our son was born,” Murray honored his wife on Mother’s Day. “Your heart lights our world. Our babies know just how lucky they are to have you as their Mama. I love you dearly.”
Chad and Sarah are private when it comes to sharing details about their family, but they happily announced that they are expecting their third baby together. “Baby #3 loading… Anyone know any new gadgets for babies? It’s been a bit since we had one,” the 41-year-old actor wrote while sharing a photo of his wife and her baby bump. He also joked that it was time for the Murrays to get a minivan.
He loves being a father.
Chad has opened up about how much he enjoys being a father. “Having a family just changes your perspective on everything. I mean, it’s a world changer…For me, it was the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me,” he gushed when the couple welcomed their first baby.
In a recent video, the actor revealed the couple is expecting a daughter, “We travel this world as a little wolf pack- this baby’s been everywhere already, and she’s not even on the outside yet:) Thank you, mama, for carrying our pack- literally,” he captioned the clip on Instagram. “Coming to an airport near you- this family of 5😳 I can hear it now- “Uhoh, here come the Murray’s.”
