BET announces the latest additions to the BET Awards 2024 lineup, including Ice Spice, Tyle, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and YG Marley. They join the previously announced performers GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, and Victoria Monét.
The list of performers for this year’s BET Awards just got bigger, as BET announced the addition of Ms. Lauryn Hill and her son YG Marley, as well as Ice Spice and Tyla. They’ll hit the stage along with previously announced performers GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, and Victoria Monét, with Tanner Adell performing on the BET Amplified stage. The show kicks off on Sunday, June 30, at 8 PM on BET.
Multi-hyphenate actor and philanthropist Taraji P. Henson returns to host the 2024 BET Awards, where Usher will be honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement BET Award. Drake leads this year’s nominations with seven nods, followed by Nicki Minaj, who has six. Victoria Monét, SZA, Sexyy Red, and J. Cole each have five nominations, while Beyonce, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, and Usher each have four.
It’s a big year for female musicians, with GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, and Sexyy Red all nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Tyla’s four noms include Best New Artist, Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best International Act, and a Viewer’s Choice Award nomination for her hit, “Water.”
Tanner Adell and Shaboozey, both of whom appeared on Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter, bring a country twang to this year’s awards show as they celebrate the success of their respective singles, “Whiskey Blues” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
Last year’s lineup included performances from Coco Jones, GloRilla, Doechii, Lil Uzi Vert, Latto, Ice Spice, Quavo, Offset, and more. The BET Awards have been the No. 1 cable award show among all adults 18-49 for the last three consecutive years. Further, it has been the No. 1 cable award show among Black adults aged 18-49 for 22 consecutive years.
The 2024 BET Awards will air live on June 30 in Los Angeles, on the BET network beginning at 8 PM ET/PT. Voting for this year’s Viewer’s Choice Award continues until June 30 at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET.
