Rumored to be tying the knot with Malaysian director boyfriend Sam Quah (柯汶利) by year-end, actress Janine Chang (張鈞甯) has cleared the air!
Appearing in Taichung for a furniture publicity event, the 41-year-old goddess shared with the press that her mom has a “pretty good” impression of her boyfriend who is three years her junior, but brushed off suggestions of wedding bells anytime soon. Although her mom had even praised Sam as being humorous, she responded to swirling marriage talk, saying “there’re only a few days left till year end! The marital status on my ID card (remains) blank”. Expressing that she was open to marriage if Sam and her could make further inroads in their relationship, she jokingly added that for now, “there wouldn’t be “bomb” invites, you won’t get a shock!”

While the actress is used to living under the limelight, Janine quipped that Sam “hasn’t been so famous before in his entire life” nor even appeared on tabloid headlines before, thus it was understandable for him to feel a tad uncomfortable from all the media glare.
Having acted in a few of the Penang-born director’s works such as 2015 film Detective Chinatown and 2021 romance series Psychologist , the career-minded actress enthused, “We’ll still have the chance to work together in future!”
As the event’s theme was on home styling and decor, Janine expressed that she has yet to visit furniture shops with Sam, though the two have gone on meal dates together. Although Sam was once spotted by paparazzi to be leaving her place after the two allegedly spent the night, the actress is in no hurry to wed, as she previously expressed that women should not get married from societal expectations. “I’d want to get to know (each other) better, and shall leave the rest up to fate.”
